For the past year now our electronics crew have been busy working on upgrading the layout to a new operating system called JMRI. This entails rewiring all the track, adding new detection boards, and redesigning the dispatch panels. The dispatch panel is expected to be completed by mid 2018. As for rewiring the mainline, that is expected to be completed before our 2017 show in November.
New boards and wiring.
This is some of the work being done under the layout to integrate the new JMRI system.
While our layout is currently down for a major upgrade, our membership book is still open to new members! This is the perfect time to join, especially if you have experience with electronics, track work and/or scenery. For more information, please contact our membership coordinator.
Recently we had a special team of visitors to our layout - a film crew! FedEx is featuring our layout in one of their holiday commercials, check it out below:
We will be open to the public each weekend in November for our annual Open House. In addition to our fully staffed layout, we will also have a quilt raffle, a scavenger hunt and a Lego train display! Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends will also be making a special appearance traveling around our layout.
